Spiritual Direction in the Formation Context

This course prepares religious, clergy, and lay formators for the ministry of spiritual direction. It focuses on core skills needed to accompany others in the formation process. Effective spiritual direction fosters attentive listening, discernment, and trust in God’s movements. In the formation context, it also requires sensitivity to vocational discernment and integration with human development.

Learning Objectives:

To gain a deeper understanding of spiritual direction in the formation of clergy, religious, and consecrated lay individuals
To explore various perspectives on the nature and models of spiritual direction, religious experiences, challenges in formative spiritual direction, and discernment
To learn and practice helper skills in formative spiritual direction
