Ushering in Encounters with God: Fostering Prayer Experiences

In this course, formators will learn ways of assisting formands and those under one’s care towards a deeper understanding of prayer. They will develop capacities and dispositions to orient formands in various prayer methods and gain skills in helping others articulate and relish their prayer experiences.

Learning Objectives:

To expand participants’ concepts of prayer
To familiarize participants with helpful dispositions in prayer
To acquaint participants with the structure of formal prayer
To revisit Lectio Divina
To familiarize / revisit Gospel Contemplation as a way of praying with Scripturesf
To learn Consciousness Examen
To become aware of problems experienced in prayer
To be able to evaluate authenticity of prayer
To be able to coach formands in encountering God in prayer
